Over the course of just two hours, you'll dive into the world of contrast media, exploring the different types and their uses. Led by Roger Bumgardner, MPH, RT(R)(CT)(NM)(CV), you'll gain a deep understanding of positive and negative contrast media, as well as the four methods of contrast media introduction.
By the end of the course, you'll be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to explain the difference between positive and negative contrast media, list and give an example of the four methods of contrast media introduction, and define concentration, osmolality, viscosity, and ionic. But that's not all - you'll also learn about the concentration, osmolality, and viscosity of contrast agents, and the difference between ionic and non-ionic agents. You'll walk away with the ability to identify which contrast agents are ionic and non-ionic, as well as the dose of iodinated contrast agents for pediatric patients. We understand the importance of patient safety, and that's why we'll cover high-risk factors in patients for contrast media injection and list the systems affected by severe contrast media reactions. And to top it off, you'll leave with a comprehensive understanding of the uses of the indicated drugs from our drug list.
